The aim of the nomination project is listing the agglomeration Mikulčice-Kopčany in the World Heritage of UNESCO. The agglomeration Mikulčice-Kopčany is a location with unique urban character as well as the residence of the reigning dynasty in the Early Middle Ages. The aim of the project was to work out a regional development study. It is a strategic document for developing water tourism and recreational navigation in the part of “central Morava”, i.e. from Skalica up to Moravský sv. Ján. This document is a complex work which is based on seven smaller studies. It evaluates the state of Pomoravie territory, and suggests strategies of development possibilities in it. It stresses the revitalization and protection of villages in this area, the development of international cooperation, and evaluates optimal location of docks and ports on the Morava, considering the future sustainability of this project. The aim is to open up recreational navigation on the Morava for visitors from the Slovak and Czech side, as well as supporting trips and using private crafts.
